We offer a wide variety of different solid surface counter top brands such as: Corian, Staron, Hi-Macs, Livingstone, Mystera and Avonite.
Many of the characteristics are similar, however, each manufacturer puts their own unique spin on their product.
Corian
DuPont Corian, was the first acrylic solid surface to be invented more than 30 years ago. It has been the leader in developing different colors and patterns and was the first to introduce a line of solid surface "integral" sinks. Over the years the sopistication of the patterns primarily the "marble" pattern has improved tremendously and has much more depth and interest.
Staron
In anticipation of the Corian patent expiring, Staron, by Samsung, an internationally recognized company introduced its initial offering of a competetive alternative to DuPont Corian. As any good company does, it reproduced as closely as possible, the top selling Corian colors and offered them at a lower price point. They also introduced a line of integral sinks, also at a lower price. The formula for Staron is the same as Corian. The product was excellent from the beginning and has made a tremendous showing. They have evolved from being "just like" to developing not only their own individual colors, but introducing a revoloutionary line called TEMPEST. The TEMPEST line has blown away the others in competing in the new arena of Engineered quartz products such as Ceasarstone, Silestone, and Zodiaq, just to name a few. Staron TEMPEST looks like engineered stone, but applies all of the most important elements in solid surfacing which are integral sinks, inconspicuous seams and the ability to repair, refurbish and resurface.
HI-MACS
Hi-Macs by LG basically did the same thing as Staron at about the same time with the same colors and patterns, etc. However, in the ensuing years Hi-Macs was also able to develop a unique collection called VOLCANICS. When the VOLCANICS collection was introduced it created a great deal of interest because the granite looking particulates had more depth and were shaped in a more sophisticated way than had been done previously by Corian and Staron. The colors are rich and interesting. Hi-Macs, of course, offers integral sinks and a transferrable warranty.
Livingstone
Livingstone was developed to really get down and dirty in the competition for solid surface business by coming in at the lowest price point while still offering a quality product. The colors are similar to the top selling Corian colors. There is nothing inherently unique about the product itself, but the pricing makes it easier to step up from laminate or tile into a solid surface with all of the benefits that come with solid surfacing. It is a great addition to our product offering.
Mystera
Mystera is like no other sold surface you 've ever seen! The wood grain patterns are so realistic you really have to study it, yet it is a solid surface product with the non-porus surface and ability to have a fully integrated sink. The travertine patterns are incredible and are a smart alternative as shower walls. There is no sealing and re-sealing with this product. The look of Mystera is so sophisticated that it can be used in lieu of marble to top a sideboard or top a bombe' chest or iron entry table. It is by far the most decorative of the solid surface products and probably the least known (for now)!
Avonite
Avonite is the artsy side of solid surfacing. Part of the line is polyester instead of acrylic which makes it a little bit more "challenging" to work with, but is so unbelievebly cool looking that it's easy to forgive its precocious tendancies. In our bath photos you'll see a tub deck and apron along with a shower seat as well as accent stripes in the sinks out of a color called Cat Eye. It is such stunning color with fleck of gold. When the light shines on it, it glows. Avonite has some very glamorous offerings with their Studio Collection.
